NSS

         The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It provides opportunity to the student youth of 11th & 12th Class of schools at +2 Board level and student youth of Technical Institution, Graduate & Post Graduate at colleges and University level of India to take part in various government led community service activities & programmes.The sole aim of the ESCON - NSS is to provide hands on experience to young students in delivering community service.

NATIONAL YOUTH DAY

VIKKARAVANDI      TALUK HOSPITAL

B.SC-II YEAR

As a part of health day celebration, B.Sc (N) II year students have celebrated “NATIONAL YOUTH DAY-2019”. The programme was commenced at 10.00 AM with prayer song by Ms.Kowsalaya.T & Ms.Sharmila.L. Ms.Shalini.A Bsc(N) II Year welcomed the gathering and Mr.Karthi, Asso. Professor ESCON Introduced the theme of national youth day “LETS BRING CHANGE TO THE WORLD”. A special Speech given by Prof.Mrs.Porselvi, M.Sc(N) Principal of ESCON followed by Dr.Lakshminarayanan, MS, consultant Pediatrician Vikkravandi taluk Hospital. He spoke about rules & responsibilities of youth among country and younger involvement in community participation and Dr.Rajkumar, chief medical officer grace the occasion with his presence. A role play was done by B.Sc(N)-II year students on responsibilities of youth for making changes in the world.    A Tamil speech on dreams of today’s youth given by Ms.Jerlinrajakumari B.Sc (N)-II year & D.Swetha B.Sc (N)-II year. Finally Prizes Distributed to the participants in competition like English & Tamil elocution, English & Tamil easy writing and poster presentation. A small memento was presented to chief guest as a remembrance of ESCON.  The programme ended with vote of thanks by Ms.Gomathi Santhoshkumar B.Sc (N)-II year.

WORLD AIDS DAY

 

RADHAPURAM BPHC

 

BSC IV YEAR

World AIDS Day” -2018 was organized and conducted by B.Sc (N)-IV year students at block primary health centre, Radhapuram on 01.11.2018. Chief Guest of the programme is Dr.Arumugam, Medical officer gave his valuable presence.

The programme was started with prayer song by Mr.Davis & Ms.Lidiya tamilarasi welcome speech given by Mr.Murali, Theme of World AIDS day-2018”Know your status” delivered by Ms.Kumudhavalli-Nursing Tutor. In chief guest address Dr.Arumugam, Medical officer gave awareness to people about prevention of HIV/AIDS and improvement of their health status and services providing at government hospital for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS. The students were created awareness through socio-drama and given health education about the causes, transmission, diagnosis and its prevention. Finally vote of thanks given by Ms. Subaprabha.The programme arrangement was done by Mrs.Menaga Gandhi-Asso.Prof,B.Sc(N)-IV year class coordinator, Ms.Kumudhavalli-Nursing Tutor and Mrs, Sribharathi- Nursing Tutor

ESCON GROUND

 

BSC IV YEAR

 

As a part of NSS day celebration students of B.Sc nursing IV – year students were conducted and participated in campus cleaning programme on 09.10.2018. The campus cleaning activity started 2.00 pm. In campus cleaning the students were cleaned the ESCON ground and garden which is around the campus. The students were dived into two groups one group cleaned the ground and other group cleaned the garden around the campus. Before that tractor dogged the field and then the students collected the waste materials in ground and disposed in a proper way. The programme completed at 4.30 pm. They were actively participated in the campus cleaning activity. The programme was organized by the class co-coordinator Mrs. Menaga Gandhi and the programme arrangement was done by Ms. Kumudhavalli nursing tutor , Mrs. Sribharathi nursing tutor with supportive help from Mr. Natarajan Administrative Officer and Mr. Balasubramani electrician department

WORLD ELDERLY DAY

ANBU ILLAM-VILLUPURAM

B.Sc-III year

As part of curriculum, B.Sc (N) III year students have visited “ANBU ILLAM”. We started at vehicle 09.45 AM and reached at ANBU ILLAM 10.45 AM. The programme was commenced at 11.00 AM with prayer song by Ms.Sofiya.

Welcome speech given by Mr.Anbarasu. Chief Guest speech given by Sister.Sarala. She told “ANBU ILLAM” organization and rules and regulations and Educational monitoring & Co-curricular activities and students parelement, Festival celebrations, Counseling, sports and care of senior citizen and infected HIV & AIDS victims then refreshment given old age people. Mr.Jayaprakash M.Sc(N), Assot,Prof. revealed the theme of 2018 “World Elderly Day Celebrations”. This year theme of “Celebrating Older Human Rights Champions” and he was explained taking care of elderly people for their food, cloth residence, medical and treatment and he said Love and affection warm and comfort with elder persons and finally is asking to all the students and teachers taking care of our elder persons. 

  Then assessed cognitive status was asked by our students using Mini MSE and activities (Identify the different colors & Arranging objects) to improve cognitive was carried out by B.Sc (N) – III students at the old age home then feedback was given by old age people.

 The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr.Vignesh. The programme ended in 1.00 PM. The vehicle started at 1.15 PM at reached 1.45 PM.

Independence day

 

ESCON CAMPUS

 

DGNM III YEAR

  72 nd Independence day celebrated by DGNM-III year students & staffs. Chief guest Mr.Sambath, M.Sc, PG Assistant in Botany,Debate speaker. Programme started at 8.30am with March fast and flag hosting. Principal Prof.M.Porselvi,M.Sc(N) delivered  the welcome address and honor the chief guest by Deputy Registrar Mr.Soundara Rajan. Mr.Anbarasu B.Sc (N)-II year student gave speech about “IMPORTANCE OF WOMEN EMPOWERMENT” Winners of various competitions (elocution, poem & drawing) were given prizes and certificates followed by cultural pragramme. Chief Guest commented on the pyramid, dances & congratulated the students for their effort thus the cultural programmes marked the occasion. Vote of thanks proposed by B.Iswariya DGNM-III year student. The programme was ended successfully with national anthem at 10.30 am.
