SYMPOSIUM ONDEPRESSION LET’S TALK
Department of Mental Health Nursing, E S college of nursing organized symposium on Depression let’s talk. The Programme started at 10.30a.m with the prayer song with the dignitaries on the Dias and the Principal Dr. Hemamalini welcomed the gathering and also stated the WHO report of depression to the audience.
Mr. Jaya Prakash, HOD, Dept. of MHN unfolded the theme and taken the role of moderator for the symposium
SESSION-1: Over view of depression and its magnitude in global, Indian and Tamilnadu level was discussed by Mrs. Kavitha, Asst. Prof., ESCON
SESSION-2: Dr. Pugazendhi, RMO, GVMCH illustrated with live examples regarding clients presenting with depressive symptoms and workplace depression and its impact on day today life.
SESSION-3: Depression among various groups like teenage, adolescents, adult and old age were narratively discussed by Mr. Vijayakumar, Principal, RITE CON, Chennai
SESSION-4: Problems faced by fresher’s entering into nursing colleges and the level of depression among them and methods to overcome was detailly explained by Mr. Jayaprakash, HOD, ESCON
SESSION-5: Natural methods of treating depression along with supportive studies was given by Mrs. Devaki, Asso. Prof. Chettinad CON, Chennai.
At the end of each session, the resource persons were honored. Feedback regarding the symposium was given Mrs. Indumathi, Asst. Prof. ESCON and Mr. Gopinath, III B.Sc(N) student. Certificates were given to the participants and the programme ended with vote of thanks at 2 p.m
NATIONAL LEVEL CONFERENCE ON “PROMOTING PUBLIC HEALTH: MANY FACETS OF A SINGLE DISCIPLINE” HELD AT SRI NARAYANI COLLEGE OF NURSING, VELLORE
Our B.Sc(N)-II year students 15 members along with Nursing faculty Mr.Daniel Tamil Selvan, Asst. Prof and Mrs. Subashree, Nursing Tutor attended 3rd National Level Conference on “Promoting Public Health: Many facets of a single discipline” held at Sri Narayani college of Nursing, Vellore on 03.02.2018 as a part of CNE programme.
SIXTH STATE LEVEL CONFERENCE ON CRISSCROSS LORE IN COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSING HELD AT VIGNESH COLLEGE OF NURSING
Sixth state level conference held at Vignesh College of Nursing in Thiruvannamalai on 28.03.2018. Mrs.G.Maheswari, Asst Prof and Mrs.A.Indumathi Asst Prof, had participated along with 15 students of B.Sc(N) II year. Theme of the conference was Crisscross lore in Community Health Nursing.
Registration was started from 7.00 am. Faculty and students reached the destination around 8.00 am. The programme was inaugurated at 9.30 am with welcome address by Prof.Mrs.C.Uma,vice principal, Vignesh college of Nursing. Dignitaries on the Dias lighting the kuthuvillakku followed by felicitation. It was given by Mr.R.Kuppusamy,Chairman,Vignesh group of institutions. Unfolding the theme was revealed by Dr.S.Vijayalakshmi, Principal, Vignesh college of Nursing. Totally 7 session was organized. First session was started at 8.00 am before the inauguration. The remaining session was continued after the inauguration. The programme ended with valedictory function around 5 pm.
